Have you noticed recently that some YouTube channel pages are looking a little different than others? youtube

A bit cleaner? The White House, the University of Phoenix, has an incredible channel well laid out very professional.

The videos are wider now with the new YouTube channels. They’re left-aligned. The content is better compartmentalized and framed. The Profiles information is pushed below the fold, and much better organized.

The entire layout is centered around playlists. And the differences go on and on.

These changes have been part of a quiet beta for YouTube Channels 2.0, a new look and feel for one of the website’s most important aspects. It’s been in testing for months, but starting today, all new users will have the new channel design. YouTube has been testing and adding iterations to this Channel redesign.

In fact, there’s a “Secret” YouTube Channels Beta Blog that provides updates based on beta user feedback. Everything from video alignment to whether ratings stars are clickable is addressed by the YouTube team.
